King David had killed a lion and a bear while just a boy watching his father’s sheep (1 Sam. 17:34-37) and a giant named Goliath by the time he was in his teens (1 Sam. 17:50-51). One would think this would qualify him to defeat every enemy sent against him. Yet we find him in Psalm 18 crying out to God because his enemies are all around him, too many and too strong.
“I call to the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my enemies.....
In my distress I called to the LORD; I cried to my God for help.
From His temple He heard my voice; my cry came before Him,
into His ears.” (Ps. 18:3-6)
In verses 13-17 we see God come to his rescue and scatter his enemies.
“The LORD thundered from heaven; the voice of the Most High resounded.
He shot His arrows and scattered the enemies, great bolts of lightning
and routed them. He rescued me from my powerful enemy,
from my foes, who were too strong for me.”
(Ps. 18:13-14, 17)
God then turns His attention to David. While David was fearless in attacking the lion, the bear and the giant, he is intimidated and demoralized because of the shear numbers of the enemies he now faces. He is incapable of defeating them in his present state.
God now begins to train David for war.
David says in verses 29-35,
“In Your strength I can crush an army; with my God I can scale any wall.
God arms me with strength, and He makes my way perfect.
He makes me as surefooted as a deer, enabling me to stand
on mountain heights.
He trains my hands for battle;
He strengthens my arm to draw a bronze bow.
You have given me Your shield of victory.”
God taught David how to stay on his feet, scale the enemy’s walls and use weapons of war such as the bow and shield. All these factors were crucial to defeating the vast numbers of his enemies.
David then chases down the very enemies that had once intimidated him and grinds them to nothing beneath his feet.
“I chased my enemies and caught them;
I did not stop until they were conquered.
I did not stop until they were conquered.
I struck them down so they could not get up;
they fell beneath my feet.
they fell beneath my feet.
You have armed me with strength for the battle;
You have subdued my enemies under my feet.
You have subdued my enemies under my feet.
You placed my foot on their necks.
I have destroyed all who hated me.
I have destroyed all who hated me.
They called for help, but no one came to their rescue.
They even cried to the Lord, but He refused to answer.
They even cried to the Lord, but He refused to answer.
I ground them as fine as dust in the wind.
I swept them into the gutter like dirt.”
I swept them into the gutter like dirt.”
(Ps. 18:37-42)
There is a striking parallel between the dangerous circumstances David found himself in and those very dangerous circumstances we now face.
You and I are living in the midnight hour of the history of Planet Earth. The battle will increase in intensity over who will rule this planet. Vast hoards of the enemy are being released even now (see Matt. 24:12; Rev. 9:1-3, 12:9) to try to stop King Jesus from reclaiming this planet as His own inheritance and setting up His righteous reign on Earth (Ps. 2; Isa. 9:7; Rev. 19:11-16).
Our enemies are all around us, just as they were around David. And just as God came to David’s rescue, He will come to ours. Just as He trained David in the art of war, He will train you and me.
God is continually training us in the art of spiritual warfare here at TDS Ministries. Sometimes He leads us to a passage of scripture as He did with Psalm 18. Other times he teaches us something while in prayer or during a deliverance session. And sometimes God uses one of you.
Several years ago a lady, who had attended a TDS School of Deliverance, called me with an exciting testimony. She was listening to a teaching CD from the school, while driving to work. (When I finish a teaching session, I close with about five to ten minutes of warfare prayer. I pray for healing of the mental and emotional wounds and command demons to leave.) As she listened to the prayer, she noticed demons were leaving her just as they had when she sat in the classes.
Since that lady’s testimony many others have reported the same experience. I realized what a powerful weapon of war God had given us to help us fulfill the mandate to train others to defeat the enemies in their life.
What a simple yet profound idea. Warriors may now fight the enemy anytime of the day without the need of calling someone in the deliverance ministry to help them.
We first decided to offer the warfare prayer on a CD by itself but soon discovered they were much more effective if the teaching on the demonic stronghold was first listened to and the warfare CD was listened to afterward.
We would like to suggest you try these and discover you can break any type of bondage by yourself in the privacy of your own home, car or back yard.
There are 12 different types of strongholds available of these two CD sets. They are offered for $10.00, but only by mail at the present time. They will soon be on the website as a set. But for now they are offered on our website only as individual MP3 downloads.
You may currently download an individual teaching CD and a prayer CD by separate title for $4.00 each. We encourage you to see for yourself that you can destroy the demonic strongholds in your life.
We are offering the Warfare Prayer CD on Fear as the free download of the month. Please take advantage of this offer by signing on to the website, TDSMinistries.org and receiving this free gift with no obligation. It may very well transform your life. I cannot stress this too strongly.
