“A People Armed and Dangerous”
August 2009
Jess Parker TDS Ministries
One of the greatest challenges any ministry faces, whether evangelist, preacher, teacher or prophet is how to leave a lasting affect on those God brings into your life. Impacting them for a day or week is good; impacting them for lifetime is better. But how? That is the challenge.
The Scriptures say of the Patriarch Able in Hebrews 11:2, “Though dead, he still speaks.” If we could only emulate Able who had such a powerful testimony that 6000 years after his death, he is still impacting us today.
The Apostle Paul repeated an admonition to his young protégé Timothy three times to “preach doctrine” (1 Tim. 4:6, 13, 16). The original Greek word translated doctrine is didaskalia. The literal meaning is “substance.” It is something real and tangible. It is something you can keep and use today and next week.
We can almost here Paul saying, “Timothy, give them substance. Give them something they can hold on to after you leave. Give them something that will benefit them tomorrow and next week and for the rest of their life.”
We have all witnessed ministries that are great on inspiration but have little substance. They are like a “flash in the pan.” Everyone is inspired but there is little they can take home and chew on because there was no substance to hold on to, no scriptures to read, no knowledge to glean, no instruction to follow. Followers of these types of ministries rarely reach maturity and thus remain dependant on another’s help for survival.
The goal of every minister should be to bring their students to maturity in the spiritual discipline they have been called and anointed to teach and impart, until those they have nurtured are no longer dependant upon them.
The ministry should provide teaching and instructions on how to apply those teachings until those under their ministry are capable of doing what has been taught them. Their students can then draw upon the things learned as they fight the battles of life.
This is especially true of the Deliverance Ministry. Those trained should be able to fight and defeat every demonic intruder they encounter. I do not want God’s children to be harassed by demons while waiting for me or any other deliverance ministry to come to town.
I have made it my goal to leave those God allows me to train, with the knowledge of how to use the spiritual weapons He has given them (Eph. 6:11) to “Resist the devil and make him flee” (James 4:7).
My aim is for the enemy to fear those I have instructed and trained. In Psalms 18 we see David’s journey of learning how to engage in warfare. He went from being afraid of his enemies (verse 17) to chasing them and seeing them beg him not to destroy them (verse 37-42. His prowess became so renown that the mention of his name was enough to strike fear in the hearts of the enemy (verse 44-45). My goal is that the mention of your name will one day strike fear into the heart of every demon that hears it.
If this appeals to you let me encourage you to attend the upcoming Tearing Down Strongholds School of Deliverance on August 24--26-09 here on our beautiful campus in
This School is an intense three day, knowledge and spiritual power encounter. It is designed primarily for those involved in or feel God may be calling them into the deliverance ministry. They will first learn how to recognize and expose the enemy’s strongholds. They will then witness a demonstration of the power of God crushing and driving demons out of people’s lives.
Everyone is invited to take the course but the pace is intense (15 Classes in 3 Days). It is designed to allow those who are serious about this ministry to learn as much as possible in a short period of time.
The topic of Rejection is the free download for the month of August. If Rejection is not a stronghold in your life, tell a friend to go on line and subscribe to the monthly newsletter. Then they are eligible to get the free download.
I want you to be armed and dangerous to every demon from hell.
Be strong, courageous and fight.
A Fellow Soldier
